According to the Associated Press, "Joe Sakic passed a pair of hockey legends Sunday night as the Colorado Avalanche captain continues to climb a pair of NHL all-time scoring lists... With a goal and an assist in the first period of Sunday's game against the San Jose Sharks, Sakic (1,591 points) passed Phil Esposito (1,590) for eighth place on the NHL's all-time scoring list... Sakic also passed Bobby Hull for sole possession of 14th place on the NHL's all-time goal-scoring list."
