Joe Sakic of the Colorado Avalanche scored an empty net goal with 9.9 second left yesterday, and in the process became just the 17th player in NHL history to score 600 goals. So, I guessing he's pretty much a lock for the Hall of Fame, right? How many goals do you think he'll finish his career with?

I remeber him from when he was the only star on the now defunked Quebec Nordiques. He is definately a hall of famer however I don't see him scoring more than 675 in his carrer.

Why not?...he is a young 37...has 26 goals this year...projecting 36...If he plays til he is 42 or so and nets seasons of between 20-25 goals a season he should make it...

I mean I want to see him break Babe Ruth's record of 714...ya know...

Oh yeah - Hall of Fame. Even if the hockey HOF wasn't as easy to get into as it is now, he would get in. I mean, Clark Gillies made it and as much as I loved Gillies he's not a HOF in my estimation. An outstanding enforcer with offensive skill? yes. But a great hockey player? No.
