I just have to say it. When you have this many bowl games on the docket, it's time for the NCAA to step in and take inventory. Someone needs to take time and say it. When there are teams that are barely getting past .500, and making it to bowls; that's it... game over.

And I know the reason why there are so many. And it all boils down to dollars and cents. It's money that the school will "maybe" make off the deal if they play their cards right, and don't blow cash that they don't need to. But they also say it gives them ad time too.

Heck... I remember when the Gator Bowl was a lower tier bowl. Now it's a mid tier bowl. Well, at least it keeps reality television off for a few hours.

I like the games. It gives me more football to check out.

They do give the BCS games a lot more prestige, but the others are OK with me.

I've tried to catch a bit of all of em!

What else is there to watch at 3-4 on a weekday, if you're home?

Oprah and reruns.

I agree Phils.... More games the better, I have watched a lot of bowl games this year... A lot of these games had teams I hadn't watched all year (such as Nevada) cause of the regional stuff.
These lower teir bowl games also gives teams National exposure that they never would get otherwise.

I don't mind all these bowl games either, except for the fact it's making me look really bad in the Yahoo picks. Good thing nobody's depending on me to make money in Vegas.

The Irony of it is.... Games in the lower Teir such as the FAU game or the UWV/NC game out shine the upper teir games... I stopped watching this blow out between LSU/GA Tech

Hey, I'm a college football fan. I like it way more than pro ball. But all the .com bowls with schools I scratch my head and think... I think I heard of that school.

It's kind of like when Austin Pea made it a ways on the NCAA tourney years back. I thought, I don't know these guys for squat, but I'll pull for them because they are underdogs.

Yeah your right there are way too many but I don't mind the wall to wall football that we get every year around Bowl season...even if most of the games really don't mean anything.

I love bowl season! But i have to agree, there are way too many. NO team should be rewarded for mediocrity: 6-6!

That, and the bowl season is TOO LONG! the National championship should be no later than the Sunday or Monday after New Years Eve (unless NYE is on a Fri or Sat).

In My Opinion I Like It There Is Nothing Like Watching 2-3 Extra Weeks Of Football But You Are Right It Needs To Change alot of these smaller bowls need to go but if they are going to go with this bcs bowl system i say add the cotton bowl to the list the past 3 years big 12 teams have gotten screwed over and the same thing with sec alot of you agree alot of you dont but lots of conferences have 1 really good team that gets left out every year it could give another small school a chance as well but yeah lets cut down on the bowls

i'd like to add one new game to bowl season the Toliet Bowl you take the 2 worst teams in the country and have them play

The Cotton Bowl would make a GREAT BCS bowl. It's not too cold in Dallas in January, plus the Cotton Bowl has been moved to the indoor Jerry Jones Cowboys Stadium.
It would also add a regional BCS Bowl for the Big XII.
This would leave the Big 10 as the sole conference without a BCS bowl in its backyard.

Rose, Fiesta= Pac 10 territory
Orange= ACC, SEC territory
Sugar= SEC territory.

9/10 times when you play LSU in the Sugar, Florida in the Orange, USC in the Rose, Ariz St in the Fiesta, you're going to lose.

Not such a bad idea. Maybe it would encourage them to play better so they dont end up in the Toilet Bowl.

LOL last year it could have featured an in-state rivalry: Washington- Washington State! (If they wouldn't have played each other in the regular season, both would have been win-less!)
