How many people here even follow Division III football? If you do, I'm sure you've heard about the mighty Mount Union Purple Raiders from Alliance, Ohio and their legendary coach, Larry Kehres. Under Kehres, the Purple Raiders have won 7 of the last 10 Division III national championships. He has been named D III Coach of the Year seven times, has produced 14 unbeaten seasons and has a career record of 231-20-3. And once again, his Mount Union team is ranked as the preseason #1 by Street & Smiths entering the 2006 season. When will this dynasty end? My guess is when some bigger, D I-A or I-AA school finally wises up and brings in the 56-year-old Kehres as their new head coach.
