Ryan Ferguson brought you a first-glance review of NCAA 09 that was generally positive, but some words of warning if you're still thinking about buying the game: it's plagued by an unusually high number of serious bugs this year. A sampling:

• Sliders are broken. CPU sliders do nothing and human sliders affect both the computer and the player.
• Roster editing remains enormously problematic, though EA says there is a patch coming in the next week.
• There are reports the online dynasty mode is broken and sometimes simulate games that have been played by human players.
• The new speed model (where a 99 speed is significantly faster than a 98 speed, which is a stupid change to make... just change the distributions of speed) causes major problems with CPU pursuit angles.
• SuperSim is still broken: if you use it to fast-forward through the end of a blowout and you're on 7 or 8 minute quarters it will pack in 60% more plays than would happen in an actual football game and you'll end up winning 120-17 or something. The sound you hear is my friend Anthony looking for a gun and a pen to write his suicide note ("DEAR EA: I HATE YOU SO MUCH") with.
• Kick returns are so, so broken.

All versions, or just the 360 one? Cause I was kind of looking at getting either the PS2 or Wii version.

Better just be the 360 one, because I have a date with GameStop tomorrow, and if it craps out on my PS3, I won't be happy

NCAA football 2006 still works fine... I don't see the need to rush out and buy another version just to put up with the headaches.

See my case is a little different because I got a PS3 for Christmas, I had like 05 or something for my old XBOX, so I'm getting caught up, but normally the sports game I bye yearly is Madden.

Hey in my humble opinion EA needs to do several things first work on getting the graphics HD and cheerleaders as real looking as possible. Secondly where is the battle of the bands halftime entertainment? Next I want to seemore options on the coaches and a ESPN halftime update on games in progress would be nice. Lastly I want to see highlights just like on ESPN Sportscenter after my game is over not of just my game but of other games as well. Inciting a riot in the stands would be fun too watching your fans fight it out [Miami]. Personally I think they need to do more with recruiting too.

I agree (see my copy of Madden 2007), but I don't actually have a version of NCAA right now. Got rid of my PS2 one when I originally got rid of my PS2, but now that I have another one and they made a version for Wii, I'm thinking about picking one up.

That's the problem with EA games.they work so hard on the look of the game, that they end up with problematic gameplay and glitches. I am all for a realistic looking game, but I would sacrifice some of the grafics, if it improved the overall gameplay.
