Big Ten Network plans

Wisconsin football fans who have access to the Big Ten Network should have the opportunity to get an early preview of the 2008 Big Ten football season later this month. The "Spring Football Showcase" is scheduled to run on the network April 19, from noon to 3:30 p.m. (Milwaukee time).
UW's spring game, coincidentally, is scheduled for 1 p.m. that day.
Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith are scheduled to host the 3 ½-hour program from Chicago with live look-ins from the eight spring games scheduled for that day.
The show will take fans to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and UW.

Ok Big Ten fans, if your team is listed here you get a chance to get a sneak look at your team

IF you get the Big Ten Network. Which as a Comcast subscriber, I do not.

It's okay Lefty you aren't missing much... actually I heard CSTV might be planning on doing multiple channels one for each conference. It would more than likely be one of those dreaded pay-per-view deals like ABC has.

There's a dispute between Comcast and the network. Comcast wants to put it on a special sports programing package, which means anyone who wants it would need to subscribe to an extra tier. The network refuses and says it should be on primary packages or not at all. So right now, it's not at all.

The best commercial on TV in Chicago right now is for either DirecTV or Dish Network, I don't which one airs this one. I just know they got the Big Ten Network and it basically says, "Hey Big Ten Fans, sick of missing your team's games? Then order Dish Network (or DirecTV), and the sports pack with the Big Ten Network today!"

No doubt its a money making thing. We have Direct and it comes with our programming. But then they want you to order all those other sports packages too.
