You Know What I'm Sick of..

Charlotte, NC – The Sweet 16 begins tonight with the games in the East Region and the West Regions. The West Region has games in Phoenix; the first game is between the third seed Xavier and the seventh seed West Virginia. The second between the one seed UCLA and the twelve seed Western Kentucky. The East games are in Charlotte. The first game between the one seed North Carolina and the four seed Washington State. In the second game the two seed Tennessee faces the three seed Louisville. But the game I want to talk about is North Carolina and Washington State.

Maybe I’m not actually sick of that match-up, but I’m just plain sick of North Carolina. Not only the, oh Carolina, they’re unstoppable but just the way they’ve played the game as of late. In the tournament the Tar Heels have beat Mount St. Mary’s and Arkansas. They beat Mount St. Mary’s by a score of 113-74 and Arkansas by a score of 108-77. Now the good news is after the Tar Heels hit 100 points coach Roy Williams learned that he could pull the starters. To be honest I would be love to watch Washington St. hold them to 50 points and beat them tonight.

I know some North Carolina fans will hate on me for this but North Carolina is becoming the new Duke. They run up the score, people keep proclaiming their greatness. They are the best in most people’s minds, but some people (like me), just plain hate them, they’re like the New England Patriots of college basketball. But like I said, love them or hate them, they are still one of those the best.

On to tonight’s match-up I think Carolina will win but it will much closer than people think. Washington State is a very good defensive team, and will be able to shut down the Carolina offense. Like I said it would lover to see Carolina lose to, because I’m sick of they’re playing with the running up the score and crap, but on the other hand I have them going to the title game in my bracket and I could use some more points.

Washington State actually matches up very well with North Carolina. They have Aaron Baynes inside to guard Tyler Hansbrough and Kyle Weaver outside to shut down Ty Lawson. I did not actually pick Washington State to get to this game. I had them losing to Notre Dame in round two. The game is in Charlotte and I do not think Washington State can beat North Carolina if Carolina has a virtual home game.

The game starts at 7:27 PM Eastern tonight on CBS.

Re: You Know What I'm Sick of..

haha wow. are they supposed to stop scoring and give the opponent a chance to creep up from behind and win?

that game wasnt close at all. everyone thought mashington state would play good D and stop the tarheels. they won by 20. from the way they played, i dont even think kyle weaver knew who ty lawson was.

the tarheels DEFINATELY arent like the NE pats. they dont say things like "......we go for it on 4th down to give the other team a chance to stop us..." . so do you just hate them cuz everyone realizes that they're even better than ucla and kansas (making them the best in teh country)?

I have no horse in this race but I am amused that Carolina won't have to leave their state until the Final Four if they make it.

Re: You Know What I'm Sick of..

the tournament sites are pre-determined. is that unc's fault? besides, they earned that #1 seed and "home court" by steam rollin almost everyone they played.

is this gonna be like the bcs where everyone complains about the title game being played in louisisna even though lsu had no control over that?

Ya but it's supposed to be neutral site, last year Ohio State was a one seed, and there were games in their arena in Columbus but they had to go down to Lexington, Kentucky. It's supposed to be neutral site and the bottom line is Carolina gets home games.

bears they are suppost to play in a neutral site, not on their home court. Carolina is in their home state but not their home court ( I know... six of one, half a dozen of the other) The hole they deserve crap came about after Duke and UNC were always gettin put in their home state or near their home state for years and teams like Kentucky were gettin sent out west. Just in the last few years is when the NCAA tried to to make it look legit and not favortism

In theory yes... in reality, never will happen. They have always played in Carolina or near Carolina. Same for Duke.

No I don't want them to lose more games to make it fair for everyone else, I want them to be treated like everyone else, but that will never happen. Cause no matter their record they will start in or near Carolina. That's the way it has been for many years. In theory if they didn't have high seeding they would start somewhere else, in reality the NCAA wouldn't let that happen. Never has. Don't twist words Geechee

Because, North Carolina is arguably the most popular team in the country, and they need their home crowd.
