Recruiting: confirms SEC has most talent

SEC followers would have you believe that theirs is unquestionably the supreme football conference in the land.

They love to attest how their league is deeper, tougher and more competitive than its inferior counterparts (in particular, the god-awful Big Ten), which is why SEC teams have won three of the past five BCS championships.

They'll happily tell you how the athletes who take the field on fall Saturdays in the South are simply more talented than those in the North, Midwest or West.

They're absolutely right.

The Big Ten doesn't have the talent because the style they play isn't built for those fast athletes. That will change when Rich Rodriguez's system starts to work up in the Midwest and we get some of that speed.

I didn't post it to insult any confrence. If you read the entire article it explains alot about different regions and the prospects available and recruiting tactics used by different confrences.

Re: Recruiting: confirms SEC has most talent

I read the entire article and think it was pretty revealing. Add in the fact that recruits making visits, especially southern kids, aren’t particularly drawn to cold climates.

A snow event in the south is celebrated as a once in a blue moon event while in the northern areas it is perceived as a daily nuisance.

Kids see the coeds strutting around skimpily clad in the south and bundled up like Eskimos in the north – where would you rather go?
