The Coaching Carousel

Let the coaching carousel begin!

As of now the following jobs are open. Please post if you know of more.
Who do you think will get the jobs at these schools? Will some of the schools follow Texas A&M and hire a former NFL or current NFL coach or assistant? Who will jump ship and move somewhere else.

Michigan
Georgia Tech
Duke
Arkansas
Washington St.
Colorado State (possibly)
Baylor
Nebraska
SMU
Mississippi
Northern Illinois
Southern Miss

Re: The Coaching Carousel

I thought so but figured some might not know. Looks like a few schools really screwed up firing winning coaches and A & M hiring Sherman

Can Duke find anybody to replace Roof?
Can Tech find anybody to replae Chan?
Ark ?

I'll be honest. I really think Duke messed up. Roof was a good coach. It's like the old saying, "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken crap". No matter what you do to it, it will still be chicken crap in the end.

Duke wants to be a football school, they say it to the media, but when push comes to shove they will no equip the coach with the resources he needs to field a competitive football team, even if that means being a little more lenient on your admission requirements.

Duke wants scholars who are great football players and as we all know, you're probably not going to find enough of those that are willing to be a part of your second rate football program in order to field a good team.

Re: The Coaching Carousel

Will Paul Johnson finally get his chance that everyone has said that he deserved? If so, where do you think he goes? Or will he stay at Navy?

How about Ga Tech? That would be a pretty good fit.

You guys need not worry about Tech - you have a good one that will soon bring back the Mack Brown days of excitement.

Oh I agree! But you have to admit that Tech does get some good recruits so they need someone that will put all of that together.

Re: The Coaching Carousel

850 the Buzz out of Raleigh just reported on air that Jim Grobe (Wake Forest Head Coach) has had informal talks with Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborn about taking the Nebraska job.

This is interesting. Grobe has done a good job at the schools he has been at (Ohio & Wake Forest). Do you think Grobe could be a good hire for Nebraska?

Re: The Coaching Carousel

I can think of a few schools I would rather coach than Nebraska. The shine is off that school and it will take a while to get it back. The kids now have no idea of the history and the fan base is stuck in the 70 - 80's - Nebraska is off the radar of the kids.

What offense does Grobe run?

His offense resembles mostly a spread type offense.
