Nah, LSU's still a top five time if you ask me, looking at pure talent.

I actually really like their #1-#7. I think this is the best job the BCS has done in a long time.

Re: First BCS Rankings of 2007

Beat by LSU, at home, on a 4th down play. I expect the SEC to devour itself, OSU to 'be the best in the country' playing a lack luster Big Ten, again, USF to compete for all the marbles. I'm not confident that there are any clear leaders. Certainly, with 2 losses, Florida isn't a top team, but they ARE the best two loss team, period, which is exactly where they are in the rankings. When all is said and done, if they win out (unlikely) then they should be 7 or 8th come mid-January.

The ridiculously easy schedule of the top 3 relative to LSU/SEC schedule play is downright silly.

Re: First BCS Rankings of 2007

A USF v. BC title game will be hilarious...hilarious in that they really haven't played anyone. WVU is a joke. South Carolina, Kentucky, UT, UF could beat them on any given Saturday. BC plays in the ACC... FSU is a shell of its former self, losing to WFU..(more like wtf). Georgia Tech, a inconsistent TECHNICAL school beats Miami. Some conference. Illinois can't muster enough nut to put together a 4th quarter drive - the Zooker strikes again. PSU - um..yea. Michigan - drank the Boone's Farm Kool-Aid. Please. This year is silly. I think the title winner will have 1 loss.

i agree with all of that .... its almost unfair that the SEC has to beat up on itself when other conferences can have one okay team and some powder-puffs .... they get inflated records

Re: First BCS Rankings of 2007

Too true, too true...at least it gives me some solace in our record. The rest of the year will be spellbinding. The amout of parity in the country is unreal. I do think that conferences with 10+ teams should be REQUIRED to play a title game. Everybody wins, the conference, the teams, more money etc....

If only I were king for a day.

Wow, you know, you had be up until you start dogging the Big East. Let us not forget that South Florida has a win over the Auburn team that beat the Gators and handed UF one of their losses this season. And I remember WVU taking Georgia back in the Sugar Bowl a couple of seasons ago. I think it's safe to say the Big East powers can hold their own against SEC competition, wouldn't you?

No playoffs would ruin it. Because if you put a playoff in regular season games would lose their value and college football would be boring. Just like the NBA. Plus bowl games give us a chance to see teams we've never heard about. Which is always fun to watch.

I actually disagree. I think the playoffs would give more opportunity to the little team/nonames to dance and prove their worth. That would make it less borin if more cinderellas got to dance.
