Colt Brennan skipping NFL Draft

Despite declaring for the NFL Draft, Hawaii QB Colt Brennan has experienced a change of heart and will return for his senior season with the Warriors. "I know what I'm passing up," he told reporters recently. "I know that plenty of people out there will think I'm crazy. But my heart lies here in Hawaii... I've just been a typical junior kid playing college quarterback. I don't think I've really prepared myself physically and mentally to enter the draft. If I had one more year, I could get myself ready, my mind ready and my body ready and be in twice good as shape."

It sure sounds like Brennan made the right call to me. What do you guys think?

Well if he says he wasn't ready for the NFL mentally, I don't see how anyone can argue.

It sure will be tough for Hawaii to repeat the season they had this year though.

Re: Colt Brennan skipping NFL Draft

I was convinced he was jumping on the first flight out of Honolulu.

He's losing three starting linemen for next year, so obviously that is going to be a factor. I didn't get to watch as many UH games as I would have liked this year, but it seems he hasn't been responding too well when the pocket collapses. So that'll be something to watch next season. Most of UH's key receivers are coming back.

I predict that the defense will be VERY suspect, though. They are losing team captain Leonard Peters among other defensive leaders on the squad. Glanville's got to provide a miracle if the Warriors are to break the top 25 next year.

On the bright side, they get Boise State at home. That will certainly be a tough one for the Broncos. Hopefully ESPN will pick it up.

Oh yeah, man, that'll be a fun game to watch. I don't care what the over-under is... take the over!

Reading between the lines..."my girlfriend is not ready to move out of Hawaii yet, and I like being the big man on campus...I will wait when the QB lot is not so stacked in the draft."
