Sec Haters???????

There Are Some Of You On Here That Hate The Sec... I Hate Seen Many Administrators Downgrading The Sec Saying They Don't See Why We Are The Best Conference Year In And Year Out... Well Tonight Proves It.... Our 6-3 Proves It.... We Had 9 Out Of 12 Schools In Bowls..... .. Can The Sec Get Some Respect Now???? Anyone Want To Admit The Sec Deserves Some Respect??? Now I Know Why Ohio State Fans Were Pissed When They Knew They Were Going To Play Uf .... They Knew They Would Get Their A** Handed To Them..... ( I Really Thought This Would Be A Great Game.) My Prediction For This Game Was Uf- 42 Os- 35...

Re: Sec Haters???????

lol, I don't hate the SEC. I like Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina and some other teams in the conference. I jsut don't see how you can say they are flat out the best conference in the nation. (btw, what happened to the big 12?)

Please give some reasons for that belief.

Re: Sec Haters???????

I just remembered I left them out... can't figure out how to edit it... Sorry Big 12..... i knew I was leaving someone out....... you might not hate the SEC but you do not give them the respect they deserve... .you might now that they are opening a can of whoop a**, but before you didn't.... noone in the media even gave UF a chance, just like no one gave UA a chance to find a good coach.... Everyone expected them to loose.... I mean it is alright if people are awesome and both deserve it.... But no.... most people said " no way the SEC is going to beat someone in the Big 10" ......... Especially since it is Ohio State.... they are undefeated this year.... Well who did they actually play???? A Michigan team that proved they didn't deserve to be anywhere near a BCS game..... Texas.... They are a pretty good team..... But look at who UF played and when they played them look at where they was ranked..... stats don't lie... and w/l records to lie..... UF deserved a whole lot more respect then what they got before this game was played

Re: Sec Haters???????

How's that, koko -- Big 12 has been added.

SEC is a very good conference. Very good. Definitely one of the best. All those bowl teams and the National Champion. But what was their record in those bowl games? I know they went 1-2 against the Big Ten (although they won the one that really mattered). I personally think it's fluid; the best conference changes on a year by year basis, just like the best team does, and for the sake of argument I voted for the Big East, who went unbeaten in five bowl games and won the Bowl Challenge Series cup for 2006.

1st....we only have 3 admins....so i wouldnt think any number of them constitutes many

2nd....our head admin, ross, is a huge UT and SEC fan......so there ya go

3rd....each conference has up and down years so it changes all the time

4th....most people here are die-hard fans for their teams and conferences that those teams belong too....so its hard to believe they (including you) are truly 100% objective

Re: Sec Haters???????

I agree with koko - How many times has an SEC team been undefeated then the "voters" don't "vote" that they are eligable to play for the national championship - With quotes like "the SEC is down this year" or "they wouldn't be able to beat the other team anyway"

As long as this "voting" system is in play the SEC will not get a fair shake - BECAUSE the voters don't like STRONG DEFENSE PLAYING - for some reason they think it just takes a good offense to be #1 - well, it takes Special teams, Kickers, Offense, and DEFENSE.

I am not "really" saying that the SEC is the best conference - BUT for goodness sakes ESPN (and the like) act like the SEC is lucky to be playing in NCAA division 1 football.

I even heard (and I forgot who said it) that someone was quoted to say "even if Florida did beat Ohio - I don't think they belonged at the BCS championship game." (I might have misquoted it a little bit and if questioned I will research it again but I know it was said - AND COME ON THAT IS REDICULOUS)

Also - if Auburn beats and unranked Bama by 3 (or visa versa) or so points then "voters/ESPN" will say "ooh they get nothing on style points" or " or that is too close to help them in the rankings."
But, if USC beats UCLA in a close game then they say - What a great rivelry and UCLA really played up to the best they could - NOTHING ABOUT Style points

I have had it with this stuff. Saying that the SEC doesn't get the shaft YEARLY is like saying that Network News doesn't lean to the left.

Re: Sec Haters???????

Got to go with the SEC. And you guys coming in here talking about bowl records well lemme inform you on something...in the SEC its BCS or bust. This year in the BCS games SEC teams not only won...they dominated and made their opponents look like cupcakes. LSU and Florida represented the SEC very well. The Big 10 is the other conference that is great but no question SEC...and iof you hate hearing about it well the only reason why it is said is because its true. Even the bottom of the barrell in the SEC was good this year.

Re: Sec Haters???????

According to ESPN the SEC is having a down year.

Florida 1.
LSU 2.

What will they say when we have a up year with 5 teams in the top 10?

Re: Sec Haters???????

With us beating each other up, it'll be hard to have 5 in the top 10... at least in the pollsters eyes.

I hate, but I had to go against the ACC (the 'Heels will be in a bowl next season) and vote for the SEC.

Oh, I see... so losing 3 non-BCS bowl games (2 to Big Ten opposition) was all just a part of the "big plan"... you were trying to lure OSU and Notre Dame into a false sense of security, and since you're all such team players down there in the south, Florida and LSU were able to talk Arkansas and Tennessee into "doing the job" as they say in pro wrestling, laying down for the good of the conference. Is that it?

The argument I always heard, especially from SEC fans, as to why the Big Ten isn't the best conference is that the top teams were great, but they didn't have depth. The SEC was the best because of depth. But this year, the SEC fits that exact mold -- huge wins in the marquee games, a .571 winning percentage in the other bowls match-ups -- so the standards change all of a sudden? Just cause it's you guys?

The SEC sent 9 of 12 teams (75%) to bowl games; the Big East sent 5 of 8 (62.5%). The SEC Teams won 67% of their bowl games; the Big East won 100% of their match-ups and came away easily with the Bowl Challenge Cup for 2006. Yet I'm the only one who thinks that maybe, just maybe, they're deserving of a little respect too?

Not looking at just this year.... ( yes the Big East won more against the SEC this year) but looking at the big picture..... Ohio St. is 0-8 vs. SEC teams in bowl play.. WOW 0-8......... The Big 10 does not play a hard schedule.... None of them do.... The only big games that anyone plays is Michigan Vs. Ohio State.... Im talking about in conference........ Look at the SEC..... The best teams always play at least 2 dominate teams every year..... I mean you have LSU, , Auburn, UA ( not recently), and now Arkansas is thrown into the mix.... Thats just in the west.... In the East you have Ga, UF, South Carolina ( not really a dominate team but is well respected), Tenn, ..... Well out of 12 teams we had 4 teams under 500.... The remaining 8 teams had 8 wins or more.... 6 with 9 wins or more.... 4 with 10 wins or more...3 with 11 wins or more..and then Uf with 13 wins... WOW......... This is how it is year end and year out, with the exception of Arkansas ( they really stepped it up this year).... Now the Big 10 .... You have Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn ( some years), Purdue and Iowa( some years).... Other than most most are a bust.... Out of those 6 teams had losing records........5 teams with 8 or more wins......4 with 9 or more....3 with 11 or more and then Ohio ST. and Wisconsin with 12 wins.... Those would be the 2 best conferences in my eyes with the SEC clearly the better conference.... Not because of the top teams but the bottom teams.... The Big 10 usually has 2-3 dominate teams.... The SEC always has 3-5....... They also have the really good teams that come in the anywhere from 8-11 wins.........If you can look at that and tell me the SEC is not the best conference then something is wrong...... For all the Big East people out there I would say to you all that Play some out of conference teams and you will be up there with the big boys.... Your conference is not solid so without really though out of conference play you will never be taken seriously.... Thats just the way it is.... Better conferences can schedule a App. St a couple of games because of their conference play......

I just answered your question in the previous post.... I think they deserve a lot of respect.... but anyone team can beat any one other team on a neutral
field.... IF they would play hard out of conference game they would be talked about alot..... Their conference just isn't that good.... They cannot afford to schedule those crappy out of conference games the the SEC can

Nobody in the Big East wants a piece of Appalachian State the two time defending National Champion in Division Two. App would really hurt thier feelings.
