I don't care how good you are ... you should not be able to start at a major institution as a true freshman.

For me if you can play and are the best option at QB I don't care what year you are in. I am do beleive in a perfect world you have a upperclassman QB starter with an underclassman waiting to take over, but that doesn't happen all of the time. Clausen is good, how good we wont know.

I am looking for wins next season, not rebuilding.

I definitely agree that you play the best guy available.

Weis has been there for 3? years now and should have the qb position stocked with decent players. If Claussen is that good, he should still be worked into the lineup. They should use a dual qb attack, until he feels confident enough to take over (both Claussen and Weis that is).

We have an exciting qb coming in at Carolina, but we have a 5 year senior starting and a red shirt frosh that is also going to get a lot of snaps. Spurrier will play who is going to win us games but at least he has very good options.
