The only real advantage the Gators will have is that the Buckeyes will have gone 51 days since their last game. That should help the Gators right at the start, but only for about half of the first quarter. From that point on, the Buckeyes should be up to speed. Both coaches are good when they have a lot of time to prepare for an opponent. That aspect could be a wash. The big advantage on the Buckeyes' side is that Troy Smith is a significantly better quarterback than Chris Leak is. A lesser edge for the Buckeyes is the number of very good running backs they can use. Florida's running backs are fairly good, but not nearly as good as Ohio State's. The defenses are both solid. Close to a wash in that department too. Physical health is another area of relative equality. In-game injuries are unforeseeable and unpredictable. If certain key players get hurt, those injuries could prove pivotal. I like Ohio State to win by about 24-14.

Ohio State should win it, but I am beginning to think it will be closer than I anticipated because Florida surely doesn't appreciate being disrespected.

I was watching local news the other day and Troy Smith was speaking about the National Title game. Remember the hunger you could see in the eyes of Vince Young last year before the Rose Bowl? I swear I saw that same determined glint in Troy Smith's eyes.

Bottom-line: The quarterback position is a microcosm of the game. Troy Smith is a composed leader that shines the brightest on the biggest stages. Chris Leak is a self-destructing player that shrinks in the spotlight.

Oh you people out there saying Buckeyes no contest and all that. Do you know what conference Florida comes from? The SEC. The step below the NFL. The most hard hitting roughest toughest college football conference. Florida will be healthy for the first time since September. They went through a gauntlet of tough teams with only one loss to Auburn due to a blocked punt. Ohio State played Michigan and Texas. Thats it. Florida played South Carolina, Tennessee, Georigia, Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas. Not to mention Kentucky which surged this year and beat Clemson in the Music City Bowl. And Alabama which always poses a tough defense. And Florida State...well ok not so much Florida State but it is a rivalry. Ohio State had Michigan and Texas....THATS IT! Who else did they beat? Penn State? Not as good as last year. Iowa? Very dissappointing team. I'm sorry Buckeye fans but when Florida takes the feild with speed and determination you will be suprised. You underestamate a team in the SEC and they will knock you on your back if your not careful. Ohio State is a very good football team but so is Florida. The Gators deserve to be there and they will prove it maybe by bringing the crystal football back to Gainsville.

So, explain the Nittany Lions beating the Vols in their bowl game. Georgia wasn't a good team this year, nor was Florida State. Big Ten is 2-0 against the self-proclaimed toughest conference in football, your precious SEC, in bowl games this season and come tomorrow night, it'll be 3-0.

I don't hate the conference... I just hate having it shoved down my throat all the time by the media that you guys claim discriminates against you. Every time I hear Kirk Herbstreit call the SEC the best conference in the country, which happens quite frequently, I cringe. You know what yesterday proved? That Florida was better than Ohio State. No doubt about it. No excuses, the Gators were the better team, and congrats. But the SEC was still just 1-2 against the Big Ten in bowl games in 2006, so don't go all thinking this proves a damn thing about the conference. This proved Florida was the best, not that the SEC was the best. By bowl record, this year we're both wrong and the 5-0 Big East is the best.
