An interim Coach may be a good idea at this time. Gene Stallings would be a good choice. We may lose something short term in the area of recruitment for making that decision. The inclination to hire a coach based on a very short deadline may be unwise. Hiring the wrong coach now may subject Alabama to a mediocre record for next 4 to 5 years with further decline in recruitment. Hiring the wrong coach right now could affect Alabama football for the next 7 to 10 years. Take the time, even if that becomes a year, to hire a great coach. A quality interim coach may be the right step towards a good long term decision.
