| 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 The five biggest surprises of 2006: 1) Wake Forest - who in the right name of college football would have thought they'd have ended up in Saturday's ACC Championship. 2) Arkansas - congrats to Houston Nutt who was able to find any way possible to use Darren McFadden in that line-up. Fear the Razorbacks once Mitch Mustain fully learns that system. 3) Rutgers - The state school of New Jersey! 4) Michigan - As a Notre Dame fan this one kills me but congrats to the Wolverines and Lloyd Carr, boucing back from 7-5 and a loss to Nebraska in the Alamo Bowl. 5) Oklahoma - If you had told me they would make the Big 12 championship game without Rhett Bomar and "AP" half the year, I would have called you crazy! Worst move of the year: Speeding up the game, please change that rule as soon as the year ends! |

| Re: 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 Not all suprises are good, ergo: 1) Miami finishing a season 6-6 going to end up in the Obscure Bowl 2) FSU finishing a season 6-6, and getting shut out by Wake Forest at home. 3) Rutgers this one is a given. 4) WVU loss to USF, still stunned... 5) That with all the firings in the ACC Dukes coach, Ted Roof still has a job??

| Re: 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 1. The complete meltdown of both Miami and FSU. Where would Florida football be right now if not for the Gators? 2. Rutgers - they've been the darlings of college football all year now. Schiano's a great coach and I hope he finished the job he started at that program. 3. OU winning without Peterson. I still can't believe this. They cost me 2 or 3 games in our predictions contest by playing this well. And without their best player, Stoops may just take this team to a conference title? Unreal. 4. Mike Shula getting fired. Not a surprise, because in reality, I kind of saw this coming after the loss to Auburn. This is sadly the landscape of college football right now. More tragic than surprising I guess. 5. The mess in the SEC. If Arkansas beats Florida, then LSU - who didn't even play in the conference championship - will likely be the highest ranked SEC team in the BCS. How? How does that happen?

| Re: 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 1. Rutgers, how could anything be bigger? 2. Oklahoma is a surprise and a true compliment to Stoops. 3. Miami!!!! 4. Bobby Bowden fires his son (is his trip out the door far off?) 5. Wake wins the ACC, are you kidding? Not the 'noles or 'canes? not the rambling wreck or the hokies? not even BC, Maryland, the UVA, or Clemson, but the WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS? |

| Re: 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 Welcome to GoTeamsGo, ole football fan, and thanks for joining us! Wake and Rutgers both are great stories. Proof that you never know what can happen in any given season or in any given game, and both programs are definitely on the rise. I just hope both coaches stay with the respective programs to finish the job they've started. |

| Re: 5 Biggest Surprises of 2006 1- Miami- Downgraded to a tropical storm. I think the BE dumped them just in time. 2- The Big East- Three teams who have been in the top 6 at some point this season. 3- the ACC- Is there anybody out there still saying the ACC is the "best" conference in football? Is there anybody not saying they are not the worse. O-K Miami has a bad year but FSU also??? 4-USC- losing to their whipping boy UCLA one game away from the NC. 5- the 2006-07 season- who can say they didn't enjoy the surprises and drama of this season and inthe end it all worked out jsut fine. |
