Outback Bowl Tickets

Outback Bowl Tickets
Fans in the Tampa Bay, Florida are mighty thankful that each year they have the opportunity to purchase Outback Bowl tickets. That's because for many years, the folks in Tampa were desperate to secure a collegiate bowl game to replace the Cigar Bowl, which the city had hosted from 1947 through 1954. Their dream came true in 1986, when organizers of the Hall of Fame Bowl opted to relocate their game from Birmingham, Alabama to Tampa Stadium. The first Hall of Fame Bowl held in Tampa featured a match-up between Boston College and Georgia that was played on December 23, 1986. James Jackson scored a pair of touchdowns for the Bulldogs in that showdown, but it was not enough to upend B.C., who won the game 27-24. The Hall of Fame bowl officially became the Outback Bowl when Outback Steakhouse signed on as the game's primary sponsor in April 1995. Since 1996, the game has had conference affiliations with the Big Ten and the SEC, and in 1999 it moved into Raymond James Stadium.

Purchasing Outback Bowl Tickets
What college football fan wouldn't want to secure Outback Bowl tickets? After all, the game has featured many of the top players in recent NCAA history, including Alabama's Shaun Alexander, Ohio State's Joey Galloway and Wisconsin running back and Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne. Currenly, tickets to the Outback Bowl game are $60 for general admission, with club or member seating requiring an additional fee based on seat quality. However, the game has a storied history of quick sellouts, so anyone wishing to buy passes to the Outback Bowl needs to act quickly. Tickets become available on October 1 of each year and can be ordered by phone at (813) 287-8844 or through the mail by writing courtesy of the Outback Bowl at 4211 W. Boy Scout Blvd., Suite 560, Tampa, Florida 3367. Tickets are also available online through the official Outback Bowl website, and at various Ticketmaster locations in the Tampa Bay area.
