| Fiesta Bowl Tickets Fiesta Bowl Tickets Once again this year, Fiesta Bowl tickets will be nearly impossible to track down. It's not surprising, really, considering that the annual game as been a part of the Bowl Championship Series since 1999. Any college football fan worth his or her salt would probably sell a vital organ or two to land seats to this contest. The game, founded in 1971 by - believe it or not - Western Athletic Conference officials, as a showcase game for the WAC conference champions. In fact, the Arizona State Sun Devils won the first three editions of the Fiesta Bowl, beating Florida State in '71, Missouri in '72 and Pittsburgh in '73, and four of the first five as well. Originally, the game was played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe Arizona through 2006. Starting with the 2007 edition, however, the new home of this game is University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Airzona. History of Fiesta Bowl Tickets Those who have been fortunate enough to purchase Fiesta Bowl tickets throughout the years have had the opportunity to see some of the greatest players and the greatest games in college football history. Heisman Trophy winners Ricky Williams, Danny Wuerffel, Vinny Testaverde, Tony Dorsett and Marcus Allen are among just some of the legends that have taken the field in this postseason classic. Of course, the Fiesta Bowl wasn't always looked upon with the same reverance it is today. Yes, even though it is now one of the BCS bowls, it wasn't really considered a major postseason showcase until the 1987 game, when Miami and Penn State met in Arizona for the National Championship. The Nittany Lions won in what remains the most watched broadcast in NCAA football history, drawing nearly 22 million viewers and putting the Fiesta Bowl game on the map. Wouldn't you like to acquire passes to this year's Fiesta Bowl to see what all the excitement is about?
