Exclamation NCAA to change to Play-Offs Petition

the most i know about the bcs is that its rankings are based on points earned by performance in game. Like how many yards given up or how many interceptions you may have gotten that game. I think that's the kind of things it looks at, not for certain. But it is becoming really ineffective (as my brother pointed at) since teams are becoming more evenly matched up (even/especially) the underdog teams because they can use the technologies and training that was once hard to find and expensive as hell. Now you have teams like Kansas State University (unranked) deSTROYING teams like Texas (ex#4). This all from the way these players can be trained now. Anyways football is awesome, why not extend it through January?

Another point that was given to me was that it would be a great way for NCAA/Colleges to run advertisements and TV spots longer. Going to the play off system could actually make NCAA, colleges, and TV/Radio channels money out the ass.

So I ask everyone who reads this, help a guy out and post a bulletin, tell your friends, do SOMETHING to get the word out that this petition is here and ready to make a positive change.

Once again here is the link:

Re: NCAA to change to Play-Offs Petition

Although fans may like it, it will never change to a playoff. Schools aren't going to want to extend the season into the second semester. Plus, it puts an importance on regular season games from day one.

A playoff would be cool but there would be some problems with that too.

Re: NCAA to change to Play-Offs Petition

but the schools could EASILY make so much more money in allowing access to video footage of the game, concessions, tickets, and other things. TV and radio stations would make a fortune. And who says extend through january? why not only take the top 8 teams and have 4 more games. this could be done quite simply.

what are the problems w/ every game counting? it upsets me that making everything count is a problem. other than the fact that the players may play harder and stay in even after an injury that he needs to be out of the game for. but then again colleges now have so much talent that 2nd-4th string guys are still close to the same level as the 1st stringers.

the biggest problem i see is the first few years, the adjustment. but after that i see happy fans, happy teams, happy economy, and happy as heck me!

Whether you support the petition or not, please stop to think about the BCS and how changing to a play off system or sticking with the BCS could alter many students (or soon to be pro players) careers, negative and positive. Feedback is critical to life.
