BCS Title Game

Assuming that either Ohio State or Michigan wins out and goes undefeated, which team should they play in the BCS title game? Vote now!

Re: BCS Title Game

I think I'll hole off on voting until after this weekend. There are a couple of 1 loss teams playing this week end and I believe the out come of a few of these games are going to shake things up a bit.

Spurrier back in the swamp could be interesting. Tennessee and Arkansas as well as USC and the Ducks, just to name a few games that could completely alter the BCS this weekend. All it would take are a few good upsets. Thanks for not adding Rutgers to the list. You are truly a wise man.

Re: BCS Title Game

I agre with VaTech nut, I'll hold off and see after this weekends games. And even then, I will be assuming Rutgers goes undefeated.

Yeah, I might've jumped the gun on this poll a bit. By tomorrow, we should know more.

Re: BCS Title Game

Wow, Auburn lost, California lost and two possibilities coming.

Texas is down big and USC just started their game.

Re: BCS Title Game

These would be my BCS Rankings after this weekend's games (assuming USC holds on to defeat Oregon).

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Notre Dame
6. Rutgers
7. Arkansas
8. Texas
9. Louisville
10. Auburn
11. LSU
12. Boise State
13. California
14. West Virginia

Next Week's Games

Western Carolina @ Florida
South Florida @ Louisville
Rutgers @ Cincinnati
Army @ Notre Dame
Arkansas @ Mississippi State
Utah State @ Boise State
Auburn @ Alabama
Michigan @ Ohio State
California @ USC
Mississippi @ LSU

Then if this happens and Southern Cal loses...could Rutgers jump up to 3? Assuming the top 2 would be the Ohio St/Michigan winner and Florida.

Re: BCS Title Game

Empire, you really believe Rutgers will jump that far ahead of Boise State.
Boise State (hate the blue field) was ranked above Rutgers going into this weekend and remained undefeated as well?

1.Ohio
2.Mich.
3.USC
4.Fla.
5.ND
6-10 anybodies guess???

In the BCS, Rutgers was 13, Boise State was 14. The USA Today Poll is the one where the Bronco's were one up on the Scarlet Knights.

But I do think Rutgers will make the jump to #6.

Oops! Good catch, my bad.
But I still have Rutgers at 7 behind Arkansas.

Re: BCS Title Game

I could forsee a matchup between OSU/Michigan winner and..... Arkansas. Yep, Arkansas. They whooped my Vols pretty bad last night. If they win out & beat Florida handily in the SEC game, I think they deserve a shot.

Re: BCS Title Game

The problem now I forsee is if USC wins out. They would almost HAVE to be in the National Championship. And still, the Florida/Arkansas and possibly Rutgers would have claims to go as well.

Re: BCS Title Game

What I think we're looking at, realisticaly, is either an OSU-Michigan rematch or that game's winner against the USC-Notre Dame winner, assuming both win out up to that game. USC made a huge statement with that win over Oregon, and I'm still convinced that Florida is going to lose one here sometime. And there's no way the NCAA really wants Rutgers to play in the title game - you realize how much money they'd stand to lose if its Rutgers and not the Irish, Trojans, etc. playing for all the marbles?

AMEN Lefty, the best and probably the most realistic post on this topic I've read, yet.
It's almost like you were reading my mind....thats spooky.

Now, Rutgers could theoretically get into the picture IF: Florida loses, Cal beats SC, and SC beats Notre Dame. Then you either have the OSU-Michigan rematch or that game's winner vs. an unbeaten Rutgers team (if they can win out). Odds are, though, that even in that scenario the BCS will have Rutgers at #3.
