| Lefty, I really do not like instant replay at any level, college or pro. I think that it takes away from the game. But I do agree that a universal system is a necessity. Letting coaches challenge will be sure to slow the game down even further, but will make the system similar to that of the NFL. Since its obvious that instant replay is going to stick around, I feel that these changes are for the better. |

| Instant Replay I used to support the use of instant replay, especially when the Big Ten introduced the system to college. It seemed simpler and less easy to get wrong when compared with the NFL system. However, after a couple of seasons of it, I wish the replay systems would be eliminated altogether. Replay is taking the magic of sports away from a game. No longer can we watch a player make an amazing play and revel in the glory of the moment, because many of those plays are reviewed, and regardless of outcome, will be picked to pieces. Do we really need to get to the point of defining just where the player's hands are on the ball to tell what constitutes a reception? Let the refs make the best call based upon what real-time evidence they have. We would probably be better off if the NFL and major conferences used full-time, professional referrees. |
