I'm from Durham NC where Duke is and they seem pretty hopeless but look what they have to work with. They dont attract the big name recruits like some of the other ACC schools. Besides it's all about basketball at Duke. Plus look at the caliber of most of the teams in the ACC. I hear what you're saying - they don't get the big blue chip football recruits. But they've been a good program before, with talented players. Dave Brown wasn't much of an NFL QB but he was pretty darn good in college, if I recall. So why did the well dry up so much for these guys? Was it the expansion of the ACC that's hurt them, poor recruiting from the coaching staff, or what?

There might be some bias for that pick, I haven't seen any of the other teams to make a statement about that. The only way Stanford can by seen nationwide is when they play the non PAC-10 teams on their schedule, i.e. ND. I get to watch football while I'm at work and I am limited to what ABC, ESPN, CBS, TBS and Fox Sports Net show in my area.
