Week 5 AP Rankings for Top 25

Boise State (4-0) 226 25 23. Rutgers (4-0) 117 28 24. Georgia Tech (3-1) 77 33 25. Missouri (4-0) 70 32 Others Receiving Votes: Boston College 42, Miami (FL) 37, Arizona State 34, Purdue 34, Michigan State 20, Texas A&M 20, Penn State 19, Texas Tech 17, Arkansas 13, Washington 13, Wake Forest 12, Wisconsin 6, UCLA 5, Houston 5, Alabama 3
As mentioned by LeftyNoob, Rutgers moved into the top 25 for the first time in forever

Not a whole lot of movement on the list but Ohio State is the popular #1 team. If Michigan beats them, there's no doubt they'll be playing for a National Title.

And Miami is not ranked for the second consecutive week

I don't get Georgia falling just one spot - sure, they won, but they very nearly suffered the upset of the century vs. Colorado. Va Tech should be ranked above them. Oh, and Michigan needs to be a top 5 team, over Florida. Wolverines are something this year.

Lets not get crazy here. If Georgia would have lost to Colorado, it would not have been the upset of the century. Colorado stinks now, but it's not like they are Temple or the Citadel.

And on Michigan, lets not go crazy here either. They have done well so far, but I am not convinced they are great. 6-10 is about where they should be at this point. I still think they will lose to Ohio State and probably Iowa.

They are normally far overrated every year so if they are a little shy of where they should be this year, then so be it.

Losing to a Colorado team that lost to a I-AA team? That would've been a MAJOR upset for Georgia, who were fresh off consecutive shutouts against far superior competition. And in terms of the Wolverines, let me just ask you think. Yes or no - is Michigan a better team than Florida? I think so. Are they better than WVU? It's close, if you ask me.

I don't know if they are better than Florida or not. Personally I don't think either of the 2 teams you mentioned are as good as Auburn, or LSU for that matter, and you are prepared to jump Michigan ahead of Auburn.

Now, back to Georgia, I didn't say it wouldn't be a major upset, but upset of the century?? I thought that was laying it on a little thick. I think it was a case of playing down to the level of your opponent, which happens all the time.

What's up with Cal only moving up one spot? Now they are ranked 20th in both AP and USAToday/ESPN polls? They put a Beating on ASU? Are they going to have to run the table to get any respect from the voters?

No no no, you misread. I want Michigan in the top 5. I don't think they're better than Auburn or USC right now. WVU might be better, too. I'd put the Wolverines at a #4 or #5 right now, over Florida and maybe the Mountaineers (who just can't seem to put anyone away).

True, it was hyperbole - then again, this century's not even 10 years old right now, so...
