Re: Collegr/pro post

Because if you look at the forum it posts in each individual teams forum but it does drive me nuts but i doubt it change because then if people are looking at one teams forum they don't see anything

Re: Collegr/pro post

I have brought up the same point. There is little to no activity in most of the team forums, it would make more sense to me to have conference forums for college sports and division forums for pro sports without a separate sub forum dedicated to every team.

Re: Collegr/pro post

As for the college Match ups I place them in both teams forums for search engines to have a better chance of picking up on them. Some people will do a specific team search and I want both teams forums covered.

Re: Collegr/pro post

And for pro football, mods are expected to post the game in the home team forum, but many of them take the extra step and post in both team forums.
Its all about the search engines.
Not sure why it would bother anyone though.

It's difficult to establish a conversation if there are 2 separate threads. It seems like there aren't many people actually conversing, at least not here in the college forums. When I scroll through the individual school forums, almost every game thread has only one post...the one that introduces the thread for a game. Those search engines might bring people here, but what will keep them here?

Re: Collegr/pro post

I am one of those that when I preview college or pro football games I do post identical previews for both home and away teams. Why? It only takes me a second to copy and paste same preview to away team. Can it be a little confusing? Yes and no.

If I only preview the home teams, new members may look at their specific favorite teams and see no preview not knowing that the mods are only previewing home teams in weekly games. I really like Desertrat's idea of having separate conference forums in addition to what we have IE: Pac 10 forum, SEC forum, Big 12 forum, etc. It would be nice to keep one big College Forum so all college fans can post together once in awhile on NCAA subjects.

I don't know if eliminating all team pages is a good idea??? Would be easier on the admin/mods for sure but have to wonder if this compromises the quality of the format of this forum?

The format is great if the forums are active. From what I can see, the NASCAR forums are the only active ones here, the rest are pretty quiet.

I hear you desertrat loud and clear. Hey, this is pretty much how it always has been? You have been a member longer than I? What can you do currently? What are you suggestions for improvement?

I like the idea of having a main forum for the conferences, the way it's set up now there is no place set for conversation of an entire conference, we only have individual team forums. If the idea is to keep those, that's fine.....but let's have one more forum that is dedicated to conference discussion. All the sub-forums would be listed below the main forum. My main focus is and always will be college football followed by college basketball and the NBA. For pro sports, a separate forum to discuss each conference or division and the playoff races would be nice. Just some ideas I have, I have more if you'd like to hear them.

I like that idea of main conference forums to go along with the team forums and take the place of the college football forum. Cause this forum is where i post things from the SEC conference in general.
