| More controversy about SEC referees Those poor Southeastern Conference football officials. Every week it seems their lives get worse. Take the Alabama-LSU game. When it came time to make a key call, they seemed hesitant to make a call at all. Alabama had scored to take a 21-15 lead in the fourth quarter. On its next possession, quarterback Greg McElroy threw a pass to Julio Jones along the right sideline. Patrick Peterson stepped in front and intercepted it and then went out of bounds. Or so it appeared. The referees waved their hands in the air, and then an eternity seemed to pass as a capacity crowd waited for a call. Finally, referee Tom Ritter spoke. "The ruling on the field is ..." he said. Yes? Yes? Yes? "The prior play is under review." Story

| Re: More controversy about SEC referees I hate the use of replay now. I thought this was a great idea at first, but the more I see games delayed while these idiots review and get it wrong, the more I wish they would just eliminate the use of replay altogether. |
