Pac-10 suspends official for missed facemask call The Pacific-10 has suspended a game official for missing a facemask call in Saturday's game between Southern California and Oregon State. The play came on a hit that knocked an Oregon State player's helmet off. Commissioner Larry Scott said in a statement that the suspension was handed down because the hit was "blatant and dangerous." The conference did not name the official or any players involved, but Trojans safety Taylor Mays hit Beavers receiver James Rodgers, removing his helmet after he caught a fourth-quarter touchdown pass. Sounds like a question for the experts.

Re: Pac-10 suspends official for missed facemask call No mention of the Oregon player that ripped Jake Locker's helmet off by his facemask when Locker was laying on the ground. It was pretty obvious and quite flagrant and would have given the Huskies a 1st and goal at the time.

Re: Pac-10 suspends official for missed facemask call Spencer Paysinger was the one that did it in the 2nd quarter. Locker was on the ground at the end of the play when Paysinger tore Locker's helmet off by grabbing the facemask. I remember Locker jumped up immediately asking for the flag and the replay clearly showed what happened. I found several stories that mention the incident but could not find a video link for it.
