Cotton Bowl Stadium has found a replacement for the namesake gamethat is moving to the new Cowboys Stadium.
The Dallas Football Classic at the 77-year-old Fair Park venue will debut onNew Year’s Day after the 2010 season with teams from the Big Ten and ConferenceUSA.
The Cotton Bowl is moving this season to the Cowboys’ $1.15 billion stadiumin suburban Arlington. The Cotton Bowl on Tuesday extended its deal with the Big12 through 2014 and plans to the same with the SEC.
The Big Ten will end a 14-year relationship with the Alamo Bowl in SanAntonio after this season. Instead, the Big Ten will send teams to Dallas andthe Texas Bowl in Houston, where a Big 12 team will be the opponent.

I hate the automatic conference tie ins to bowl games. We end up seeing the same matchups repeated far too often.

I totally agree desertrat. Are current bowl tie-ins are horrible along with our TV contracts. The only bowl tie-in I like is the Holiday Bowl where we play the Big 12. The good news it the PAC 10 has a brand new commissioner and is currently negotiating new bowl and TV deals. I saw an interview with him fairly recently about this very subject. He wouldn't elaborate on specifics. The PAC 10 use to have the Cotton Bowl as part of their tie in. See what happens?

It's not just the Pac 10 bowl tie ins that I despise, I hate the entire concept of any conference tie ins to bowl games. I also think they should cancel about 5 to 10 of the bowl games existing now....no 6-6 team with a win over an FCS team should ever play in a bowl game.

Very good point desertrat! I can remember the days when you were lucky to be in a bowl taking 3rd place in your league with 7 wins. Now? You are seeing teams finish 7th in their league and going to a bowl game at 6-6. I have never liked this and really makes the bowl games meaningless if they were not already.

I dont really get why the big 10 quit the deal with the alamo bowl considering some of the greatest Big 12 And Big 10 Bowl Games have been hosted there but i like the deal that there will be another bowl game between these 2 conferences
