Oh I'm sure they are not using it as an excuse but more of a complaint about the male dominated sports world. As much as we'd like to see change happen over night .. it just doesn't work that way. But see, what I'm saying is, I don't think there's really that many girls dreaming of growing up to be officials. Now, maybe there are more than I know, but I can't imagine there would really be that many people that would object to it. That being said however, I could see where there would be a rule that NFL officials have to be male, but I think that's more due to the physical recruitments of the job more than anything.

OUCH !!!!! Women can't meet the physical requirements ???? I'll let a female from our forums attack you on that one. Take a good look as some of the baseball umps. Some are a wee bit on the chunky side. Anyway once the barrier is broken things will in fact change. No it isn't gonna happen next week, next month or even next year but in time females will become a natural part of what we see on the field in all sports that require judges on the field.

I have been around alittle longer, and I am female, so maybe it is possible I have come across circumstances where females are held back. Not that I have ever been around anyone who wanted to become a ref. Its a general thing, but not always true perhaps.
