Boise State RB Ian Johnson

I know most of you are probably watching the Steeler game, but anyone else here watching the absolute HURTIN' that Boise State RB Ian Johnson is putting on the Oregon State defense? Through three quarters, Johnson has run 20 times for 188 yards and 4 - yes, 4 - touchdowns. And its not just the numbers, either... the kid is absolutely running OVER the Beaver defenders, dragging them with him for extra yardage. Sheer physical dominance. It's unreal to watch.

That kid looked good. I love to see a runner who just refuses to go down.

I missed that entire game because of school, but that score is an eye opener! I never expected a blowout and actually thought Oregon State would probably win a shootout. Did this shock anyone else like it did me?

Yeah, it was surprising. I knew Boise would win on their blue turf. I just didn't expect THAT big of a win.

Boy, this guy must like running on the "bluegrass" of his home field. Upon looking at the recap on CSTV.com, Johnson had 22 carries for 238 yards and five touchdowns. It also looked like OSU came out and scored 14 points early, but died and didn't even score the rest of the game.

Re: Boise State RB Ian Johnson

Hard to believe back in September, few of us on the national level had ever heard of Ian Johnson. And now, all these month later, he's essentially a household name after finishing with more that 1,700 yards, 25 touchdowns and a 6.2 yards per carry average, and he led Boise State to a BCS bowl victory. Definitely a top Heisman candidate for next season, is he not?

I doubt a Boise State player will be a Heisman candidate. But I'm sure more people will know the kid for proposing to his girlfriend after scoring the game winning 2pt conversion lol.

I don't know...he might... I remember Luke Staley the BYU back putting together a similar season and taking the Doak Walker award.
