That seems incredibly high for a rivalry game even if it is the Gators. I think it will be closer then a lot of people think, ultimatly I think the Gators will win, but you gotta think that spread is really high right?

I do think that the spread is too high but playing in the Swamp; Who knows?

Great point, being in the swamp definitly favors the gators in the bet. However, it is still a rivalry game, anything can happen. I dont even know if i would like 28.5 pts with uf even if they were playing FSU. Rivalries can change everything. i think its a great bet

Oddsmakers set the line not based on how they actually think the game will play out, but more on how to get an equal amount of money bet on both sides. This way the bookies make their money on the 10% juice they charge for bets.

True, and obviously they are thinking that half the people will think uf will blow them out and the other half are like me thinking thats wayt to big of a spread.
But i dont understand how its not more then 50% of people thinking that spread is to high.

It doesn't have to be 50% of the people, only 50% of the money. A couple of high rollers can really throw it out of whack.

I would'nt trust the point spread. The spread has my Clemson Tigers favored to beat Boston College. And this is after they got beat by three. But in the first half, they were getting their butts beat.

So don't trust the bookies.

It can go either way, its just so tempting that many points. But I dont know its also very scary.
