Postgame punch mars No. 14 Boise State's commanding win over No. 16 Oregon - NCAA College Football Recap - ESPN

As the Broncos began celebrating on their famous blue turf, Hout yelled in Blount's face and tapped him on the shoulder pad. That drew an immediate scream from Boise State head coach Chris Petersen, but before Petersen could pull Hout away, Blount landed a right hand to the defensive end's jaw.

Then as Blount was being pulled off the field, he had to be restrained from fans heckling him on the way to the Oregon locker room.

"I couldn't have envisioned anything worse than this right here," said Blount, who set a Ducks record with 17 rushing touchdowns last season.

Oregon coach Chip Kelly said he would review the game film before making a decision on Blount's future.

If I were the AD or head coach at Oregon, this would be the final time you'd ever see Blount playing for the Ducks.

From what I heard they have had trouble with him before and was suspended. They showed on SportsCenter this morning apologising, but I think its tad bit late for that.I dont understand how thses guys with all this talent can just throw it all away?

Blount suspended for the season today. Personally, I thought the punishment was excessive. Anybody who has ever played football or truly follows football knows emotions run high and the agony of defeat. Since I am a Duck fan and a little biased here, hate to lose your start RB for season over an end of game punch in which he more or less was provoked by opposing player. I've played football and I've never come close to punching anybody, nor do I think there is any room for that in college football. It gives the sport and the school a bad name. I've said it before, I'll say it again, if I were the school president or head coach, he'd be kicked off the team completely. Apprently Blount has a history of bad behavior, so it's basically the same situtation as Michael Vick. Oh, and you think what the Boise State player did was provoke him? Please, there is so much ♫♫♫♫ talking going on over the course of the game it's not even funny. Blount was just mad his team got shown up by a school from an inferior conference and he couldn't control himself. Anything less than suspending him for the season would've been ridiculous.

Ummm... I will firstly have to say in the opening thread about how Boise ST won a commanding victory over the Ducks??? 19-8? This is not a commanding win and Ducks had every opportunity to get back in this game in the 4th QTR. Boise St dominate on stats, for sure, botton line is the Broncos beat Ducks 19-8 and was not a commanding win.

OK, Blount debate. You know I have seen way more horrible conduct in football over the years with minor suspensions. Anybody remember those ruthless Miami Hurricane teams where they played so dirty, sucker punched players and a whole lot of other crap. Yeah, they got a minor suspension in those days...not for the season though. This is a bunch of crap about Blount. Media brought this garbage pressure and encourage Ducks not to play on any more ESPN games in the future based on their bad press. Go back to FSN where they have great announcers. The ESPN announcers for the BSU vs OR game were the worst I have ever seen.

Ok, I am done ranting...not happy, but the season is still young. Ducks are going to have to play out the rest of their season without their star RB, this is life.

Scores don't always reflect how commanding a win is. The game was not as close as the score indicated. Boise State's defense dominated Oregon's offense all night long. And just because you think you may have witnessed other schools doing worse things over the course of the football game doesn't excuse Blount's actions. He sucker punched a player and then attempted to rush the fans. You are too close to the Ducks and too biased to have an objective opinion.

So, let me get this straight...you're blaming ESPN for what Blount did?

No, I am not blaming ESPN for what Blount did. Yes, I am blaming not just ESPN but all the media outlets including all over the internet. I think this got a little blown out of proportion but this is just my opinion. I saw one video on YouTube where they replayed all three incidents of Blount 20 times in a 2 minute video...over and over and over.

Mike Belotti, OR AD, made a complaint to BSU officials. He is claiming the stadium replay officials replayed the punching incident over and over repeatedly which may have got the crowd all upset and irritated.

In conclusion, whats done is done. Blount is gone for the year. I have been hearing rumors that Blount might be eligible to use a redshirt this year. I thought this was interesting. After all, he came to Oregon as a true JC transfer last year. This would be Blount's choice and he is going to practice with the team the rest of the year. Stay tuned.

Your first two sentences conflict with each other. One player punching another player and then trying to fight the fans couldn't be overblown, in any sport. And anybody can do anything on YouTube, so why the hell would you go by that? And what business is it of Oregon's AD what BSU plays on their jumbotron?
