| Team of the Decade These things are kinda silly- kinda fun. There is no doubt USC is #1. But if Florida or Oklahoma or Texas can win the NC this year, those 3 have a legit claim for #1, especially with the pending NCAA investigation for USC. Decade rankings 1-10: USC is the one and only - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com 1. USC 2. Oklahoma 3. Texas 4. Florida 5. LSU 6. Ohio State 7. Miami 8. Georgia 9. Virginia Tech 10. Utah My ballot would probably look more like this though: 1. USC 2. Oklahoma 3. Ohio State 4. Florida 5. Texas 6. LSU 7. Miami 8. Virginia Tech 9. Georgia 10. Utah |

Reasoning behind my rankings: 1. USC 93-22 record 7 league titles 2 National titles (some people count it) 7 BCS games 6-2 bowl record 14 first rounders 3 heisman 2. Oklahoma 102-19 Record 6 League Titles 7 Division Titles 1 National Title 7 BCS games 4-5 Bowl record 7 first rounders 2 Heisman 3. Ohio State 91-23 Record 5 League Titles 1 National Titles 6 BCS games 4-5 bowl record 15 first rounders 1 Heisman 4. Florida 87-29 record 3 Conference Titles 3 Division Titles 2 National Titles 4 BCS Games 4-5 Bowl Record 8 First Rounders 1 Heisman 5. Texas 97-18 record 1 league title 3 division titles 1 national title 7-2 bowl record 13 first rounders 0 heisman 6. LSU 90-27 Record 3 League titles 3 Division titles 2 National titles 4 BCS games 7-2 Bowl record 9 First Rounders 0 Heisman Edit: LSU and UF should be interchangeable at #4 and #5, but Florida probably gets the nod. |

| Re: Team of the Decade Miami had like 2 losses from 2000-2002, including 2 national championship appearances. Not to mention they have had 25+ first round draft picks, by far the most. They have 0 heismans but they do have a national championship and some league championships. |

| Re: Team of the Decade Throw the draft picks things out, because that has nothing to do with anything. They haven't won a conference title since 2003 and are just 19-19 in the last three seasons. How does that make them one of the 10 best programs across the entire decade? |

| Re: Team of the Decade Quote:
You can make a case for them being among the best for the first 1/3 of the decade...but balance that against the end of the decade...and you are basically left with the middle years...which were okay, but not spectacular..

| Re: Team of the Decade Quote:
but come up with 10 teams who HAVE been consistent since the 2000 season. There are only 9 teams with BCSNCG appearances Since 2000. Only 7 teams have won a title. Out of these 9 teams with appearances, one is FSU, and one is Nebraska. both have 0 titles, not to mention "not so great" records during the decade. Miami has 2 appearances, 1 win. So do you put a team who is consistently consistent over a team with 2 NCG appearances-1 title (and another disputed title loss), another 1-loss season, and a bunch of mediocre-good seasons? I think "consistently consistent" teams like Virginia Tech, Penn State, California,////whatever would trade places with Miami in a heartbeat. |
