Previewing the Game of the Night

Houston, TX – It doesn’t have any Cinderella’s, it doesn’t have any one seeds, but it will be the best game tonight. That game is two-three, match-up in the South Region. The teams playing in that game are the two seed in the South, the Texas Longhorn and the three seed, the Stanford Cardinal.

The game starts at 7:27 pm eastern in Houston, Texas on CBS. These teams have two totally different styles. Texas, has the best backcourt in tournament, lead by Sophomore D.J. Augustin and Junior A.J. Abrams. Augustin is averaging 19 points and 5 assists per game, while Abrams is averaging 16 points. Stanford has probably the best frontcourt combination with the very popular “Lopez Twins”. Brook and Robin Lopez, are two seven foot giants, who have lead Stanford to second place in the regular season and tournament in the Pac-10. Brook is averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds. Robin is averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Both of these teams have done similar in the tournament. Texas beat Austin Peay in the fist the round by a score of 74-54, and survived Miami, winning 75-72. Stanford destroyed Cornell in round one, by as score of 77-54 and edged by Marquette in overtime by a score of 82-81. I think these teams are the best in the South Region, no disrespect to Memphis but I just don’t see it. I think the winner of this game is going to the Final Four in San, Antonio. As the title states this will be the game of the night, it’s the best game of the Sweet 16 and I can’t wait!

Okay time for my prediction, like I said they have totally different styles, Stanford will try to work it inside to the Lopez Twins, while Texas will use that great backcourt. For a while I count not find anything separating these two teams, but I’ve come up with a reason and a winner. Texas will win this game, not only because they have an excellent backcourt with Augustin, and Abrams (who is playing incredible as of late), but also because the game is in Houston and it is basically a home game for Texas. I know it’s a football state, and people are more exciting about Texas’ Spring Football Game than this game, but you still can’t discount that it is in Houston.
