| What's rotten in Big Ten Basketball? I have been reading a lot of comments on the officiating in the Big Ten Tournament, most notably in the Wisconsin vs. Michigan State game on Saturday. There is an old saying that the best officiated game is when you dont see the officials and apparently it is felt that is not what happened at the Badger vs. Spartans game. There were a lot of fouls, but it seemed most were incidental contact variety. I know I got plenty irritated at all the breaks in the game. MSU had 4 big guys fouled out while a Wisconsin team that is known for taking physical liberties(author's words, not mine) had no more than three fouls on any player. The answer would seem to be the league hiring its own full time officials. Refs steal MSU victory, cause Izzo tears with bad calls | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press I'm a rookie at this basketball stuff, and all I could go by was the announcers and I didnt hear anything that would really indicate a problem. So afraid I didnt see it. I wanted Wisconsin to win but not in an unfair manner. Any thoughts on this subject?
