Re: NCAA Tourney to add more teams? The only realistic option I can see is to have 4 play in games for the 16 seeds instead of 1. I have no idea why they ever did just 1 play in game instead of doing 4. Personally I don't like that option. It seems like 64 (or 65) teams is perfect. If they expand any more you will be getting some teams that didn't really deserve to be in the tournamet based on their regular season play.

Re: NCAA Tourney to add more teams? I wouldn't touch a tournament that is probably the best in all of sports. The selection process makes it interesting and the field is packed full of competitive basketball teams. Watering it down will not make it better. BBB

Re: NCAA Tourney to add more teams? This is probably the worst idea I have ever heard for anything. I suppose adding three more play-in games would be inconsequential, but what would it resolve? Its not going to resolve any so called "controversy" over teams who do not receive at-large bids. The math is quite simple, when you add more spots, you add more teams, but this will also result in more teams feeling entitled too at-large bids. I sincerely hope Boeheim isn't suggesting giving the top one or two seeds in each region a bye. That would be a disaster.

Re: NCAA Tourney to add more teams? If you do that though don't you take away winning your conference as being a free ticket into the dance a motivational factor? For some reason I think that opening the field even more will take away the excitement of needing to win the conference tournament to get in. I mean look at Syracuse. Would they have gotten in if they didn't win? Doubtful.
