Can somebody explain to me how the Zips do not get invited to either tournament. I didn't expect them to get to the NCAA tourney after their loss to Miami, but how do they go from one free throw away from the big dance to nothing.

They won the MAC east with a 13-3 record. Overall record of 26-7

ranked #7 on mid major top 20 poll. 1-6 went to the NCAA. 8-11 going to either NCAA or NIT. Akron at 7 is staying home.

Their RPI is 67. Providence made the NIT with 76 and Fresno St with 87.

I would like to know the criteria to get into the tournaments.

I don't know. I can't see any possible way they wouldn't be invited to at least one of the two tourneys. Wow.
