NCAA Tourney snubs

Syracuse, Drexel, Air Force... which was the biggest NCAA tourney snub in your view?

Cool Re: NCAA Tourney snubs

I think Syracuse is the biggest. Nobody was even talking about them being a bubble team. It was just assumed that they would make it.

I agree... but it was interesting to learn that the Falcons had the best RPI of the overlooked teams. How neither was ranked in the top 65 and Arkansas (with a losing record in their own conference) is beyond me.

Re: NCAA Tourney snubs

come on people air force played one rank team and lost and that was to duke. Im kinda tired of people arguing for these mid majors.

Air Forces L's

BYU x2
TCU
Duke
Wyoming
UNLV
Utah
SDSU

some of these mid major teams the only rank teams they play are other mid majors. Im all for a team like gonzaga who plays all the hard teams in their non conference schedule and does well and made it. But i hear this in the argument for national championship, if u dont play anybuddy who cares what your record is.

syracuse was robbed, and the acc like every year is over rated the only good team in that conference is UNC

Drexel beat Syracuse, though. So there's a case for them as well.

i would have less of a problem with drexel

but they did only beat syracuse and villanova for their big wins

WVu beat villanova and ucla had two more l's but im not arguing for wvu, though i wouldnt of minded it

I mean shoudlnt the team that beats the better teams be rewarded not the team that has the easy schedule?

wow, ill take the syracuse comment back, i just looked at their schedule and i think wvu had more reasonn to get in then them too

Cool Re: NCAA Tourney snubs

Mike and the Mad Dog took Gary Walters to task on some of yesterday's decisions. There main beefs were how Syracuse, Air Force, Drexel were left out.

How Stanford, Illinois and Arkansas made it over those teams. ANd they had a huge problem with a lot of the seedings.

They thought much too much deference was given to the PAC 10. They thought Washiington state as a 3 was joke as was Southern Alabama...Niagra as a play in was a joke..There were others, also...

Just scroll down and click on "play" of the Gary walters interview. There are also other good coach interviews on there. One with a dumbfounded Jim Boeheim.

Re: NCAA Tourney snubs

If you replaced Arkansas, Stanford, Illinois and Purdue with FSU, KSU, Syracuse and Drexel, I think there would be much fewer complaints. The Big Ten this year didn't deserve more than four teams and The Big East, being sixteen deep, deserved at least seven bids.

Drexel and ODU were fairly comparable and their isn't much justification for leaving one out and putting the other one in. FSU has the potential to knock off any title contender on any given day. And The Cuse and KSU need no justification, it just seems like common sense that they should have gotten at-large bids (both 10-6 and both in competitive conferences).

Regardless, everyone will have forgotten about this come noon on Thursday.
