Just got done reading a fascinating article at Forbes.com that discusses the NCAA tourney's negative effect on business productivity. According to estimates by a consulting firm, March Madness could lead to as much as $3.8 billion in lost productivity during the course of the month, as employees rush to check results and fill out online brackets. The Forbes writer seems to dismiss the numbers as inflated, but for some reason I have little trouble buying it. What do you guys think?

Lefty: I saw that on Yahoo. I'm not surprised. I'm sure the same kind of thing happens due to rotisserie leagues. This is why so many companies block access to so many websites.

With the Internet at everybody's desks, there are so many more distractions from e-bay to porn, than there ware 10 years ago. You're going to find the companies eventually crack down on what everybody's logging onto if they haven't already.
