Final four picks

Who likes who to make it to the final four? It seems like all the teams I have high opinions of are playing each other and all the teams I think are overrated or I have little confidence in are paired up. This is my hesitant final four:

UConn
LSU
Pitt
BC (This I think is the mst difficult bracket to come out of with OSU, Georgetown absurdly low at a 7th seed, BC, Nova and a hoast of stellar mid-majors).

Just as a disclaimer: These picks are susceptible to change at anytime.

Re: Final four picks

Why not? My predictions are always right...

Okay, we'll go with Syracuse out of Atlanta, Kansas as a surprise pick emerging from the Oakland bracket, The Huskies in the D.C. region, and the Villanova Wildcats just edging the Buckeyes in Minneapolis.

Re: Final four picks

I am not entirely sold on the prospect of Kansas reaching the final four. No one seems to ever mention how under achieving Bill Self is in the NCAA tourney. He is going to have to make a sweet 16 before I can predict one of his teams to reach a final four. That bracket is really up for grabs though. I like LSU because their athleticism is almost unmatched in the Atlanta region and I certainly believe Duke will have a difficult time containing them, especially inside. After they knock off Duke in the sweet 16 I think they will have enough momentum to push them past UT into the final four. It is very convuluded, I know; but this is what I love about this tournament: attempting to concoct these inconceivable scenarios in which someone completely unexpected vies for a national title.

It looks like you are an ACC fan. 3 of the 4 from ACC would sure shut up all the people tooting the Big East and Big 10 as the top conferences.

Re: Final four picks

I have found out over the years that I should not try to predict this tournament. Every year I am completely wrong.

But a couple of teams that I do not like that have been mentioned are Pitt and Boston College. I know they both made runs in their respective conference tournaments, but I do not think that they will be able to do the same in the Big Dance.

Pitt does not have the offensive fire power to win games, and I am not sold on BC just because they played Duke close.

But then again, who knows what'll happen in March.

Cool Re: Final four picks

I haven't done my brackets yet but I saw a trend on ESPN earlier today: Almost always: a couple of twelve seeds knock off 2 five seeds....Lefty: you put 2 five seeds in your final 4 (Syracuse & Washington).

I'm picking Syracuse to go down - if not in the first game then in the 2nd game...Going into the Big East Tourney, this team was on the bubble, and just got hot and got a couple of miracles. I think they're spent and ripe to go down....I'm also goanna pick Washington to go down in the first 2 games.

Of course, if I really had any clue as to what I was talking about, I wouldn't be posting it here - I'd be cashing in.

I meant the UConn Huskies, not the Washington Huskies. Sorry about that. And I really wanted to go with Duke, but there's no way 3 No. 1 seeds are making the Final Four. No way that happens.

Re: Final four picks

I've got no. 1 Villanova, no. 3 Iowa, no. 3 Gonzaga and sweet-sixteen home-team Washington in the final four.

My analysis is explained in the thread entitled "i hate the NCAA tournament."

Cheers, everyone!

Cool Re: Final four picks

1) Gonzaga, Duke, Witchita State, and Ohio State. Champion: Gonzaga

Don't ask me why. I changed my teams about 100 times and even put in another entry in a pool that I'm in (with totally different teams). This tourney is such a crap shoot.
