Brackets Released

The brackets were recently released, and like usual there are some great games to be played.

A couple of possible second round matchups that tweaked my interest are..

UNC vs. Michigan State in the second round

Pitt vs. Kansas in the second round

Here are the brackets...

What does everybody else see?

Re: Brackets Released

I see the potential 3rd round game with UCLA and Gonzaga very interesting if they meet. Arizona-Wisconsin in round 1 could be a good one also. West Virginia-Iowa is another interesting potential matchup. A lot of games have my interest.

I see possible upsets by Kent State, Xavier, Alabama and Montana.

Cool Re: Brackets Released

I went to Albany. They were a Division III School. Then in the late 80's or early 90's they moved up to Division I and have finally made the tourney.

I wish I could pick them in my brackets for a game. If they were a 15 seed instead of a 16 I would do it but could they get a tougher 1st round opponent than Connecticut? And a 16 has never beaten a 1. Oh well.

Cool Re: Brackets Released

Can someone tell me how 26-2 GW not only gets an 8 seed, but for all intent and purposes, gets saddled with a road game by playing NC-Wilmington in Carolina?

GW got screwed. I'm generally against giving high seeds to teams from middling conferences with really good records. But 8th, that's rough. Maybe 6 at worst.

And how did Air Force make it in? They're not good. At all. They did play my team, UW, pretty tough for part of a game, but weren't close to winning.

Let's see if Gonzaga can actually make some noise. I don't have much confidence after they kept just barely beating teams like San Francisco in their conference.....

Pitt, a number 5 seed? That's too low.

Re: Brackets Released

You also have to look at it this way. Not only did GW get a raw deal, so did Duke. They will more than likely have to play GW in the second round. That could make for an interesting matchup.

Also, there has been a lot of talk about Pitt's seed. But the fact of the matter is that the teams that got the 1-4 seeds are better than them. They did get matched up with a very difficult second game against Kansas if things pan out like they should.

Re: Brackets Released

If we get past Kent State, I like Pitt's chances against Kansas. Pitt is not a good matchup for Kansas.
