| Bracket Scoring How do people score their office polls for the NCAA tournament? For the past couple of years we have always tallied the score by multiplying the seed times the round to determine how many points are awarded for each game called correctly. For example:
11 (seed) x 1 (round) = 11 points
or:
9 (seed) x 2 (round) = 18 points
... and so on. This provides more incentive to predict and upset and negates the lackluster strategy of simply picking every favorite to win every game. As unexpecting as it may seem, it also makes our poll much close of a race. But I was hoping to attempt a impliment a different scoring system.
Anyone use an alternative scoring strategy? Maybe a modification of the aforementioned calculation or something staggeringly inventive. I am open to suggestions. |
