March Madness Bubble Teams

It is still a little bit early for this, with a few games left and the conference tourneys, but lets take a look at some teams that are fighting to get in the Big Dance:

Syracuse has lost 5 of their last 7 games and currently stand at 16-7. They need to finish strong, and maybe win a game or two in the conference tournament.

Indiana is at 13-8 and have had some big wins against some top teams. But they have dropped their last 3, and need to pick up the slack at the end of the year. With Davis under all kinds of job pressure, hopefully we will see IU pick up a couple of much needed wins down the stretch.

Kentucky is sitting at 15-9 with an RPI of 44. They are 1-6 against RPI top 50. They must finish strong to avoid missing March.

These are just a couple of the bubble teams. What do you guys think? Who else is sitting on the fence?

Bubble Bursting

I was hoping that my Miami Hurricanes wouldn't burst this year, but over the last week or so, their bubble has popped in spectacular fashion. A double-overtime loss to North Carolina State started the landslide and the damage hasn't stopped. They followed up that hard-fought loss with L's to North Carolina, Boston College, and Duke.

While I wasn't expecting a miracle upset against Duke, I felt they could play with North Carolina (who they spanked pretty good at Chapel Hill) and BC. Wasn't to be.

Miami needs a miracle. That's for the course in the magic city.

Well you never know. The Hurricanes could win out and make some noise in the ACC Tourney. It is a long shot, but stranger things have happened; especially in March!
