Travis Hafner grand slam record

In yesterday's game with the Royals, Travis Hafner of the Cleveland Indians tied a major league record by hitting his sixth grand slam of the season. Hafner tied Don Mattingly's mark by clearing the bases as part of an 11-run first inning against Kansas City. Think Hafner will be able to get one more and set a new grand slam record by the end of the year?

Wow, Hafner huh?...I thought he'd be good but he is developing into a clutch hitter...still, anyone remember Pat Tabler for the Indians?...he hit some ungoldly high average with the bases loaded close to .500, and no one remembers him.

Re: Travis Hafner grand slam record

That's pretty amazing. It seems everyone and their mother has been able to hit a grand slam this year. But getting 6 in a single season (so far), that's pretty good.

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to break Donny Baseball's record.

Cool Re: Travis Hafner grand slam record

That was a record I never thought anyone would tie. Just to get up with the bases loaded 6 times in 1 year is hard enough. Kudos to Hafner.

Re: Travis Hafner grand slam record

I agree with ThePundit, as usual.

That record is based on luck. How often are the bases loaded and a batter is standing at the plate? I don't think a grand slam is a one-player accomplishment since it could've been only a solo-homer if his teammates didn't chip in.

Re: Travis Hafner grand slam record

I think that he will do it. It's just a gut feeling.

Re: Travis Hafner grand slam record

There is a month left, so I would expect him to hit another grand slam. He just needs some players to get on base for him.
