The Cleveland Indians Christmas list.
1. Closing Pitcher- After some free agent trys, it seems nothing has really fallen through yet for the tribe. Right now it looks like there biggeest concern is going to be a closing pitcher. The top three probable choices for the Cleveland Indians are Francisco Rodriguez, Kerry Wood, and Trevor Hoffman. With a slow free-agent market it seems a lot of teams could have trouble getting what they want, however there looks to be a lot of good closers in the free-agent pool, and not too many teams pursuing them.
2. Third Baseman- There was talk that the Indians made a move at Miguel Cabrera not too long ago. That could hint they are on the prowl for a power hitting third baseman. There also were some dicussions involving sending Mark Teahen over to Cleveland in exchange for an outfielder. That could be a good idea for the Indians, in fact I think that could really get them in contention for the play-offs.
3. Sold Starter- After losing C.C. Sabathia, they may be looking for a good starter that could fill in some holes. Now I'm not saying they will be entering the Burnett or Sabathia sweepstakes, but they could benefit from a sold starting pitcher in there rotation. They have Cliff Lee who looks like he can be great for years to come, but another starter could really help out that club.
So that is a Christmas list for the Cleveland Indians.
