Indians P Cliff Lee

Cleveland Indians P Cliff Lee became the AL's first 13-game winner yesterday. Of course, he gave up a season-worst 11 hits in the 6-2 win over Seattle and his control was wonky, but he did manage to snag the complete game and the victory. Plus, in spite of everything, Lee's 2.29 ERA is second-best in the American League right now. So what do you think of his Cy Young chances?

He looked sharp in the all-star game...and he is a lefty I believe...I think his chances are good...I think he makes 20 wins and ends up at a 2.70 ERA

Re: Indians P Cliff Lee

I think Cliff Lee is the best pitcher in all of baseball!!! If he was with any other team but the pathetic Cleveland Indians he would be undefeated in my opinion. He is the most dominant pitcher in baseball currently for sure!

Wow, man, that's some high praise. You really believe that if you put him on, say, the Red Sox, he'd be unbeaten? Anyone else agree?

Re: Indians P Cliff Lee

I'll kind of revise my earlier post in saying that "If Lee was playing for any other team, he would be undefeated." I think what I meant to say is that if he were playing for a lot of other teams, including the Red Sox, I honestly believe he would be undefeated.

He would also actually have a couple extra wins because he had some games that he got a 'no decision' in where the bullpen blew games he should have won. Just thought I would add to this. Cliff Lee, Cy Young winner for sure, unless he collapses...don't see this though.

Anybody else agree?

I think Lee has the edge for the Cy Young, but I'm not ready to say he's got it locked up. Mussina, for one, has a chance.

Re: Indians P Cliff Lee

Lee is 14-2 with a 2.20 ERA. Only Halladay and Matzusaka have anywhere those numbers. Lee has only walked 20 in 141 inning. Unless the wheels fall off he is a Cy Young lock. And if they do, watch out for F-Rod from the Angels to sneak in.
