According to the Yahoo! Sports rumor page, the Cleveland Indians may be looking to pull off a deal for Jason Bay. "New Pirates GM Neal Huntington (a former Tribe assistant) will want a lot in return," the published report reads, "But the Indians should talk to him, and keep the phones busy as they pursue one more big bat." Bay hit .296 with 33 homers and 105 RBI last year. He's had some knee problems, but he's also under contract for two more years at the bargain basement price of $13 for both season. Should the Tribe pull the trigger on this deal?

It would be nice to have him in their lineup, but what would they give up for him. I have heard that Peralta could be moved. They really like Barfield the idea of Josh Barfield and Azdrubel Cabrerea up the middle on defense. They could try to put a deal together with Peralta, Cliff Lee, and Jeremy Sowers. Get a bat they need and get rid of dead weight.
