Cool Indians wild card lead slipping

Down to 1 against the Mariners, 6 against the Twinkies and 5 in the loss to the Yanks.

I really thought that the Indians played over their head in the 1st half of the season...I have a feeling that the Yanks are going to catch them.

What does everybody else think about the Indians?

They need to turn it around fast. Seattle's going to catch them in no time at this rate.

What amazes me is that these struggles are coming at time where Ryan Garko is on fire - he's batting .476 with 3 homers and 9 RBIs during a 12-game hitting streak. But the Indians are playing .500 ball since the All-Star Break, and I can't put my finger on exactly why that is.

They are not playing well overall. Aside from Sabathia and Carmona, they have no starting pitching really.

I still think they will hold off and win at least the wild card because without everything clicking together they are still one of the best teams. Imagine what they would be like if everyone was playing like they were supposed to .

That is very true this team has yet to play its best baseball this year and if shapiro can pull something off before the deadline then we have a legimate shot at a championshiip in cleveland. This Team reminds me so much of 95' its scary

Cool Re: Indians wild card lead slipping

...And slipping...Now they're tied in the loss with the Mariners....and the Yanks are only 2 out....Is there anybody left who thinks the Indians are actually going to make the playoffs.

Cool Re: Indians wild card lead slipping

They're actually now in 1st place...1/2 a game ahead of the Tigers in the Central.

Cleveland: 62-47
Detroit: 61-47

I gotta give the Tribe credit. Every time I count them out, the sneak back in.

Tough team to figure. Every time you think they're going to pull away, they start to slip. Every time you think they're done, they start clawing and scratching their way back into the playoff hunt. Ultimately I think they make it, probably by winning the Central, but I'd sure like to see more consistancy out of them.

Cool Re: Indians wild card lead slipping

The Indians now have lost 5 straight. The only thing that's saving them is the Tigers 1-9 record in their last 10 games.
