Indians Re-sign Travis Hafner

Ken Rosenthal breaks the news that the Indians have signed Hafner to a 4-year, $57 million contract extension.

"Hafner, batting .262 with 14 homers and 57 RBIs, has not been as productive this season, ranking 23rd in the A.L. in OPS. His signing, however, ensures that the Indians will keep one of their core players through 2012."

Good signing, he's potentially one of the better slugging first baseman.

Re: Indians Resign Travis Hafner

Definitely glad to hear that the Tribe resigned him. I thought for sure he's want to go after some of that big money in the Big Apple.

Cool Re: Indians Resign Travis Hafner

Good signing. 4 years 57 million is reasonable. Can you imagine 15 years ago, someone saying that 4 years and 57 million is reasonable?

Re: Indians Resign Travis Hafner

He was one of the 2 that needed to be signed. Too bad the other was Westbrook and not Sabathia....yet. Do you think the Indians will be able to keep CC and Hafner?

Boy, I don't know. Sabathia is going to be so in demand. Hard to pass up the big bucks. I'd like to see him stay in Cleveland, but I'm not confident.
