The guy has never seemed in shape to me...maybe that's why he pulled an abdominal muscle...in the Words of John Kruk..."They are not athletes they are ball players."

I don't think it is too serious though.... The Cleveland manager pulled him out of the game as a precaution. He didn't want Sabathia to really hurt himself.

Sabathia went on the 15-day DL today and will miss about 3-5 weeks with a strained right oblique. Not exactly the best news to start the season off with, but hey - at least Cleveland won today, 8-2.

The good news is that the Indians have a great prospect named Fausto Carmona. I won't be surprised if the Indians decide to call him up to the big leagues temporarily.

But the Indians really need Jake Westbrook to step up to the occasion.
