Bob Hope, Bob Lemon, Bob Feller, Larry Doby, Joe Carter, Albert Belle

I guess it has to be Feller, right?

Rapid Roberts aka Bob Feller first, but Speaker over Lemon...then Lajoie

People in Cleveland would probably vote for Feller, Doby, Omar Vizquel.

I liked Joey Belle better than Albert.

Not sure what order I'd put them in, but Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Tris Speaker, Nap Lajoie and Joe Carter are my top five.

I don't think I could put Joe Carter on this list. He left and won his titles with Toronto. He only had a few god years with Cleveland.

Fair point. But he was an automatic 100 RBI guy with bad Indians teams.

Re: Greatest Indian of All Time

He was a miserable representative for the team, but Albert Belle was a great player. In fact, once he got his career up to speed, he virtually never went into a slump---a very rare phenomenon.

Cool Re: Greatest Indian of All Time

I just try to ignore that Albert Belle ever played Major League Baseball. He was such a miserable person, he made Barry Bonds look like the nicest guy on the earth.

Re: Greatest Indian of All Time

How about "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Manny Ramirez, Frank Robinson, Buddy Bell, George Burns, "Satchel" Paige, Orel Hershiser, Gaylord Perry, and Dennis Eckerlsley?

I tend to think of Jackson as a White Sox, I like Buddy Bell (lots of hits, steady player) but he falls jsut short and he played a bit for the Rangers and Reds...Eck's glory came in Boston, Robinson was Reds and Orioles for most of his best days, and Manny...well, he is now part of Red Sox folk lore...

I still say it's Bob Feller...who lost some good years to the War BTW...

Well, I can't speak for Gotham, but the difference to me is that there are other guys who clearly had better tenures with the Indians. You look at Erving as a Net and it's just crying for someone to stay with that team 10-12 years and knock him off that perch, but quite frankly, there just isn't anyone better. Yet. If Kidd re-ups and finishes his career with them, then maybe he'll be the guy.
